Jubilee Celebrations

Friday, oh I love you! Because it was a short week I feel like I have been running on a hamster wheel and not getting much done. I am going to spend the weekend trying to catch  up on the things I did not get done because I was away last weekend, and trying to watch a little of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

Jubilee Celebrations

I love the Queen and am excited to see some of the tributes to her.

The Telegraph

The Jubilee Celebrations are both large and small, from neighborhoods gathering together to celebrate, to hundreds of thousands flocking to the city, and of course lots of coverage on the TV.

Jubilee Celebration

If you are interested in all of the specifics you can go to visit HERE for all of the official information.

From the information that I have gathered we will be able to see here in the US  the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. on Sunday June 3rd and you can watch it on the BBC America.

The Queen and Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, William and Kate will be riding on barge like the one above. Other members of the Royal Family will be on other vessels.

We will also be able to see The Diamond Jubilee Concert on both the BBC America and NBC, preforming will be Shirley Bassey, Elton John, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Jools Holland, Jessie J, JLS, Annie Lennox, Madness, Cliff Richard, Ed Sheeran and West End star Alfie Boe.

If you are interested in seeing some of the pageantry and celebrations you can watch BBC America, as well as, the Service of Thanksgiving on the 5th of June.

What are your plans for the weekend? Will you participate in any of the celebrations? I know Jeanne from Collage of Life and Jude from A Trifle Rushed have plans to celebrate with their neighborhoods and are enjoying all of the excitement of being in the city. Or will you be like me, viewing in on TV?

Wherever you are and whatever you do I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  3. It'll be fun to see some of it and celebrate her life. Other then that nothing planned here bbecause I think the weather is going to wash out my gardening plans.

  4. We had a fabulous day at my daughter's school yesterday, and I've just seen a super photo of Buckingham Palace, lit up with a huge Union Jack. It is raining here and I don't think my little girl will see much if we try to watch the flotilla in central London, so like you we'll be watching the BBC tomorrow, should be fun.
