Life Tweaks

Good morning. I know I said yesterday I was ready to get back to my routine but I have to tell you that after such a long break I am having a hard time. I guess "Rome wasn't built in a day" so getting back perhaps may take a day or two longer than I thought. What about you? Did you jump right back in?

I had so many great intentions, I was going to get up have my morning walk, then a cup of cocoa and go to work.

I did get up, but I did not walk because it was freezing outside, a sorry excuse I know but I did have the cocoa.

Work was equally challenging. All day I felt like reading blogs and perusing Pinterest. Thankfully I did not but I won't lie I did feel tempted more than once. Instead I found myself "taking breaks" to read a great book that I currently have. Thank goodness I work from home, and for family.

Am I the only one feeling like this? Do tell me your strategy for jumping back in with both feet!

Today is going to be a better day. Enjoy your day!

  1. I assure you, you are not alone. Yesterday was the first semi normal day over here and instead of running out of the house like a bat out of hell after being "cooped up" for 9 days I stayed in almost the whole day..go figure! I think we "shut down" our machines that are always running full throttle,it takes time for our engines to warm up and get back to full capacity. I am not pushing it, I have resigned myself to the fact that it will take a week give or take to get fully back, and in the meantime, my suggestion? Enjoy all the hot cocoa your heart desires......theres always next week:)

  2. Good morning Elizabeth....sorry to say I jumped right back in with both feet. Nothing like clients and the phone ringing to get you motivated. That and I love what I do I'm going to show a post soon of some of the things I've been making. Love you list but it really should be a way of life. Stop beating yourself up it's a short week and if you would rather read your book then enjoy it, finish it and move on. Enjoy your book.

  3. teehee...I KNOW.

Well, fortunately, like that little girl in the photo (that is SO darling), I have this SPICE OF LIFE and sparkle in my eye that moves me even IF I am tired....so yesterday I had a teaching assignment, today I am going for a power walk and I am delivering that dress....and in between, I will lift my weights as usual....I guess that is it:

BUSINESS AS USUAL CHEZ MOI! You will do it dearest. I know you will. Rome was NOT built in a day!

  4. I feel like my life isn't back to normal yet maybe after I get the rest of my Christmas things put away, plus I have MS and it acting up a bit from all the running around I did during the Holidays.

  5. Great photos Elizabeth and a wonderful list for success!

I started work yesterday.. such a shock. Fortunately I only work three days a week so I have a long weekend to look forward to. It's definitely a bit of a struggle and I'm feeling a little bit like a bear that would prefer to stay in hibernation mode.

It's 26 degrees and I'm heading out for a short walk with my girls.. Brrr! I'll be wide awake and ready to go afterwards!!

Enjoy your day and savor the season as long as you can.

  6. Girlie, I am feeling
    exactly the same, despite
all the goals in my cute
    little notebook. I spent
    New Year's Day reading,
    watching movies and
    just vegging and it was
    truly a wonderful day.

    I think hibernating creatures
    are on to something!

    Thank you for your sweet
    comment for my little cousin.
Believe it or not, a few possible
    contacts have already come out
    of my blog post.

    Happy, cozy, New Year!

    xo Suzanne

    PS: Love your pics.....

  7. Elizabeth, I had to jump into getting my home back in order today. Arriving home late last night we left suitcases and boxes unpacked, not to mentioned the house was left with Christmas strewn about. I worked like a demon until about 4:30. Now I am just trying to catch up with everyone. I will return to school on Monday. Wishing you a wonderful New Year. Bonnie
