Chocolate Butter Cream Frosted Cupcakes

Oh my goodness, I am so, so, so happy it is Friday! I need to have five minutes to relax. I swear that after these last few days I am making a vow, to save more trees. We have 4 boxes of mail from the last 21/2 months, and in addition to the normal bills, and personal correspondence we had two boxes of catalogs and magazines. So on my list for next week is to get our name on the "do not mail list" for catalogs. I should have taken a photo because the stack of catalogs is at least a foot high, as for magazines I counted 40( I think I have a sickness) but at least I do not have enough to cover my walls like the image below.

What are your plans for the weekend? I am picking out paint chips for a guest room and a bathroom. The bathroom just had granite installed and the guest room is something that I have had on my mind for awhile. I am using lots of plaid, leather and hunting scenes. I had the pillows, the bed cover and the dust ruffle and curtains made while I was in Milwaukee and am now ready to move forward. And today I purchased the most beautiful Jacobean cabinet. Things are coming together!

The house still looks like a wreck, I am hoping to be unpacked, have the laundry finished, the 10 boxes which I had shipped here unpacked( I did manage to shop at a few antique stores while in Milwaukee), and all of the mail opened and answered. Aside from that I am going to do a little baking to relax!

I made these cupcakes last week before I left Milwaukee, they are fabulous, if I do say so myself. If you like chocolate than you will love these cupcakes, the Chocolate Butter cream frosting is my favorite new recipe. All of the information is on my other blog, Once Upon a Chocolate Life.

Enjoy the weekend! I cannot wait to hear what you are up to!

  1. Choclate butter cream!!!!!! How can I possibly eat boring oatmeal now? :) Sounds like you have been and will continue to be a busy girl...but all good things, good luck with your house projects, hope you will share when you are done, fun to see the finished results (and in process too)! Had no idea you had another blog..that could be dangerous for me, a fellow chocaholic! Enjoy your weekend Elizabeth!

WELCOME HOME to your calm and cozy place of repose....yes, the amount of paper that is used to waste is ridiculous. I so hope that you are now enjoying the clutter-free space that you so love, and I LOVE TOO!!!! Dearest heart, I am off today, and I am so happy. We had long parent conferences ALL DAY yesterday up until the night. I am in need of quiet today but my favorite things are on my list:

    composing a new blog post.

  3. How's your puppy feeling? Me I need to relax I've had a crazy week and this week feels like it has lasted a month so relaxing is on my docket. Enjoy your baking!

  4. Those cupcakes look delicious! I am off to San Francisco to visit my daughter and take her to the ballet. The "paper" battle is really tough, sometimes I go on a cleaning spree and get rid of a lot of things. Magazines are my weakness and I have trouble throwing them away. I tear out the inspiring pages and keep them in a notebook. Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Hello.... I finally found time to get back to your bloggy world....It's not the same as hanging out with you while you are doing it and then reading it the next day. I miss you lots.... I love all the pictures you took on your trip home, sad about all those people who lost all their stuff...Well I too am glad it's the weekend... I am working tomorrow night but it should be a fun concert... Love you and miss you lots... And yes those cupcakes were super fabulous... since you left my five star meals have gone back to meals in a box...

  6. SWEET ONE!!! How are you coming along with your organization of the homestead?

THANK YOU FOR COMING DEAR HEART and giving me the chance to share a little about myself!!!! LOVE TO YOU ! Anita

  7. Welcome home, dear friend! You have so much to do, but if you pace yourself, and take lots of chocolat chaud breaks, all will be well :)
Sending you love, and hugs with best wishes for good health for your precious pup too!
