Artist Spotlight, Kate Lewis

Good morning! How was your weekend? The weather here was beautiful so it was nice to get out and soak up the sun while reading a good book. The days are getting shorter and I want to take advantage of the summer weather while I can.

I love art,  of all kinds, everything from the Old Masters and the Impressionists, to Modern as well. I am drawn to landscapes, and whimsical modern pieces and have filled my home with original art from friends and family but also artists I have discovered while traveling.

This past week while scrolling Instagram I discovered artist Kate Lewis and love her colorful pieces as well as her pottery.

Flowers for Vuillard

Kates' website has this tag line, "an artist in pursuit of beauty and optimism." Something for us all to aspire to.

And she states:

"Cherished spaces and objects and all that they encompass are at the heart of my work. Being a mother of four young children and being connected to all aspects of domesticity has had me dive deep into how we experience our environments and how that affects us. I am exploring what spaces and objects matter to people and why."

This black and white piece is one of my favorites, its called Bakers Rack.

If you are a fan of blue and white than you might enjoy her vases too.

I like this white and blue vase it is clean looking and reminds me of some of the pieces I have seen in Italy.

This blue and white vase is a favorite as well.

The vases and the paintings would look great in any setting don't you think?

What sort of art do you like? Do you have a favorite artist? Or genre? Please share your favorites because I love to learn about new artists.

Have a great day!
