The Little Things...Lately

Good morning! It is August 2nd, can you believe it? I am in awe about how fast time seems to be going lately, especially this summer. It seemed like winter lasted forever and now summer is on the homes stretch. I know that summer isn't over until September 22 but in my mind it seems like summer is over on Labor day, it must be a hold over from childhood.

Lately, I am learning to appreciate the sun. As it has been raining so much lately the minute the sun is out I jump from my chair and either go for a walk or sit on the porch with the pups to soak up its warmth. I am fascinated with mushrooms and I love seeing their little "villages" as I refer to them, pop up over night. On my more fanciful walks I imagine the fairy families that live in these little mushroom towns. I even purchased this mushroom book so that I can identify a few of them. I have been savoring the last few weeks I have with a friend who is moving home to Spain. We have been talking, walking, cooking and simply enjoying one anthers company. I am savoring the delights of summer, berries and cream, tomatoes from the vine, icy lemonade and peaches. I have been enjoying my Jack Rogers, this white dress from Target and although I am savoring summer I am dreaming of Fall days wrapped in tartan, sitting by the fire sipping hot chocolate.

These are just a few of the little things I have been enjoying these last few week, what about you? Are you savoring the little things this summer, if so please share with us what you have been enjoying be it a walk on the beach, your garden or even a new recipe.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. It's been quite a dry summer here. I am noticing more that the days are getting shorter now.
